Rick Hughes has helped many individuals and families in the Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama areas prepare for retirement. Rick works exclusively with seniors and retirees to find solutions to help them enjoy their retirement years.
After being a vice president of a Fortune 500 company, Rick founded Hughes & Associates in 2007 to help families prepare for the future. Before changing careers, Rick served as an assistant basketball coach at the University of Florida and then served as a general manager/head coach of a developmental league to the NBA.
Rick has pioneered strategies that protect his clients from volatile and risky financial investments while helping them grow their retirement income. His main interest is helping his clients in reducing their taxes. He offers many risk and risk-free strategies that can lower a tax bracket and, in many cases, obtain a zero percent tax bracket in retirement.
Driven by a passion to educate and inform those preparing for or moving into the retirement phase of life, Rick has strived to create educational opportunities through workshops, classes, special events, and social media and provide them to those in the Cleveland, Chattanooga, Knoxville, and surrounding areas.

His professional knowledge includes looking at all buckets of money and allocating them to the appropriate tax advantage status. He can assist his clients in reaching a lower tax bracket and, in many cases, obtaining a zero percent tax bracket in retirement. He can also provide strategies that are risk-free or limited-risk.
He utilizes a scientific approach to analyzing portfolios through standard deviation, correlation matrix, and risk reward.
